Scots thoughts/3

Atlantis Post

Everyone knows that in four days (18 Sept) in the United Kingdom the Scottish people will vote for the at the referendum for the Scottish indipendence. The question is: “Should Scotland be an indipendent country?“. We made the same question in St.Charlie. The 8th September, Prime Minister Specter asked his government if, as St.Charlian Government, they had to support or not the Scottish indipendence. The answer, and the official position of the governme is: “The St.Charlian Government support the Scottish referendum as a democratic and peaceful way of self-determinationand will respect the will of the Scottish people”. A very neutral answer, so we had to investigate behind this statement. Truth is, the government is divided in the issue, that’s probably the reason why the official position of the government is quite neutral. The Prime Minister is a strong supporter of the Scottish indipendence and “would certainly vote yes, if I was there“. Following, General Beninati is a strong republican, and don’t have in sympathy for the British Monarchy and this leads him for a “yes position”. Minister Belfort shares the republican position of Beninati but he doesn’t believe that the “yes” will win the referendum. Deputy Prime Minister Alvisi thinks that the referendum is a good idea, but the indipendence “smell of whim” and the position is shared by Minister Strauss. Ministers Lanzarini and Calandrini made not public their opinion about the referendum. What about the Presidency? President Reinhardt share the official postition of the government though he thinks that “Salmond sometimes seems crazy“. In the past few days a poll was made in Atlantis by the SCIS (St.Charlian Institute for Statistics) on the 74% of the citizens of the Federation. The 25% had no idea of what was going on in Scotland. The 10% in undecided. The 25% is against the indipendence and the 40% is in favor of the Scottish independence. Even a bet was made. Since Minister Belfort thinks that the “no” will win in the referendum, Prime Minister Specter made a bet with his Minister. The stake? A pizza.
